If you’re getting a first alto, and you want something good that makes you want to actually play saxophone, but you don’t want to spend a lot of money, the YAS-26 is what you should probably get. These are over $2k new, but you can get this one for way less and just pocket the difference. It’s super nice condition, clean, undamaged, and plays great. It won’t need any significant work anytime soon, as the pads are all in very good condition and everything is sealing beautifully. Just play it and enjoy it! It’s hard to beat. Most pros I know started on the Yamaha 23 (previous model to the 26) and the 26 will have the same legacy. If you want a student alto sax that sets you up for success, that’s this.
