I adore this thing. It's clear why the Slant signature Tone Edges are such classics.
This mouthpiece takes just about every reed and ligature combination I can throw at it and plays it all well. It's incredibly flexible and consistent. Absurdly easy to play and very comfortable.
It's a very high quality product and certainly lands the goal of offering a vintage masterpiece at a fraction of the cost.
It's early but am enjoying my new Getsax Tenor mouthpiece. No issues so far. No imperfections and it has a nice even sound. I'll give a more in depth review after I spend a little time with our.
I keep my Selmer Balanced Action tenor in this case. It's compact, durable, and lightweight. It's designed to be carried everywhere, so if you're a walker or have to take public transport (or fly with your instrument) this is the case for you. If your horn regularly gets put in with other equipment (or heaven forbid it gets checked with the luggage!) this may not be the right choice.
There isn't much interior storage space, but there is a carve-out for your mouthpiece, the neck goes into the bell in the provided neck pouch, and there is a small compartment underneath the lower stack and lower part of the bell to store a reed case and maybe a small neckstrap. If you have a cloud strap or other shoulder harness, it likely won't fit unless you get very creative.
I have bought several Saxophones from Brian and recommend him. If you have a question about playability he's great. If your looking for something ask him. He has great Saxophones and try his mouthpieces.
Beautiful mouthpiece, so very pleased to be the owner of this. I chose this on the recommendationof my tutor. I am a novice, so I can't offer the depth of reviews you have so far. What I can say is that I placed my order late on 18th December and received this on 24th December. Al the way from the US to the UK in less than a week. Well packaged. Excellent service. Now it's all down to me to make the most of this opportunity.
I’ve been playing on my GS Mark II Tenor mouthpiece for a couple of weeks now and simply love it. I find it to be the perfect mouthpiece for playing sultry smooth jazz. I’ve played a boatload of mouthpieces in my career and this one tops the list. I usually play the Mark II with a Brancher wire ligature and Legere American Cut reeds. Thanks GetaSax.

The GS-Slant is terrific. It has everything that I have been hoping to find. After buying (and selling off) dozens of vintage mouthpieces that people say are great, but I hated, I have come to the conclusion that your GS mouthpieces are the only ones worth looking at. I have the GS-Mark II also and have loved it for over a year for all my R&B and funk gigs , so I figured it was worth trying the Slant to get a little more of that jazzy sound. I was not disappointed. The same incredible quality went into both mouthpieces and I can't recommend them more highly. I'm tempted to order a New York alto too, before the price goes up. Bought this and was a little nervous about the brightness being overpowering. Instead I found it to be a ballsy piece that can do ANYTHING incredibly well. Really opened up my old Buescher tenor. Booming lows and electric highs if you want them. Easy to growl on. Just did some studio recordings and this was the only mouthpiece I used for all tenor recordings. Very impressed. You exceeded my expectations. Thanks for your work and very fair prices guys! Hoping to be back soon for your alto piece.
I bought a Supersonic 8 from you a while back and want to say thank you. I am thoroughly enjoying what it can do and the ease of blowing. I have paired it with my ancient 1922 Conn tenor and it can deal with big fluffy ballads or scream when I do an R&B gig! Intonation is spot on with all my vintage horns. Really appreciate your craftsmanship and at such a competitive price.
I received mine today, and I'm very, very pleased. I'm playing a JodyJazz HR* Custom Dark with a Legere Signature reed. The HR* mouthpiece is small and the Legere reeds are thinner than cane reeds -- it's hard to find a ligature for this setup that gives proper support. The Brilhart Reproduction works beautifully!
I just received this mouthpiece and it played great right away! I’ve mostly played on metal mouthpieces because I’ve never had a hard rubber style mouthpiece that feels and sounds right to me, this mouthpiece however, feels and sounds incredible! It surpassed my expectations in every way. Thank you for the wonderful mouthpiece!
Bought this piece with a 9 facing. Use with a 3 1/2 reeds This piece has a beautiful warm sound overall. Nice easy subs and effortless extented range Also doesnt mind being pushed if needed. But easy to play quiet too...use this piece on acoustic setting with piano trio. Tone !
I wanted to hold off on giving my feedback until I had a chance to spend some time with the new GS Mark II 7* I received a few weeks ago. I've played and owned a lot of mouthpieces over the 30 years of playing I've done, and I have to say this this one has the most flexible tone I've experienced. Not too bright, not too dark. It seems to have a crispness and sizzle, but with a fat, luscious, rich warmth at the same time. Sound production is easy (i.e. subtones nicely), with just enough back pressure to keep it under control. Tuning is spot on, regardless of where I'm at on the horn or volume level. Greater volume/more air seems to enhance everything I've mentioned. My overtone series and altissimo pops out very easily. It works well with synthetic reeds when I want more brightness and projection (i.e. Legere American cut 2.5 or Fiberreed Carbon Fiber medium-soft). I've been getting lots of compliments on my sound at gigs the past couple weeks from my combo mates. Most importantly, my wife hears me practice all the time and has complimented my tone recently. :-)
I love this ligature. It's such an upgrade to the original Tone Master ligature, which is (in my opinion) the best stock ligature offered for a metal Link.
Compared to the stock ligature, it's so much easier to adjust mouthpiece position without accidentally kicking the reed out of alignment - and it doesn't need to flipped around or secured with a dead reed to keep the tip of the mouthpiece from hitting the mouthpiece cap. I usually prefer two screw ligs over single screw to fine tune response, and this is no exception. Full marks for build quality, too.
For what it's worth, I use a rovner cap (#5) with this ligature.
Is it worth it? Absolutely. I'll buy it again if it ever breaks. A big if, considering how well it's made.
Great piece. Bright, loud yet soulful and very expressive. A great addition to your arsenal, especially if you have a somewhat darker-sounding sax, like a Keilworth or P. Mauriat 66. Love it!

The mouthpiece plays as well as mouthpieces that sell for over $1000 and you are offering it for what I would say is almost an "unfair price" - to you - as it is so economical for the customer. This is an incredible service that you are offering to the saxophone community. Without exaggeration, it’s you and those that share your philosophy that provide hope for humanity in these times. I play a Selmer Balanced Action tenor from the late 30's. This is the one mouthpiece I've found so far that really does allow me to do everything. I play in a range of groups from small combo jazz and big band to a 10-piece funk and rock band - I don't feel out of place anywhere when I'm using this. What's better is that I can get the sounds out of it that I want for each of those settings. Experiment with reed choices - they really do change things on this piece. It plays loud, it plays soft, it plays bright, it plays dark, and it subtones - and most importantly, it plays IN TUNE on my persnickety vintage horn.
I first tried the Slant in a 7* but found it a bit too small for my taste - no biggie because the exchange process was super easy to get an 8* (which is absolutely perfect for my playing style!) It's a fairly large tip opening for some players, but it feels much smaller for whatever reason. It will take all of the air I give it, but is still easy to control.

Hey just wanted to let you know that gs alto mouthpiece 5 I just bought from you is probably one of the best pieces I’ve played.. been playing for 20 yrs. The perfect balance of resistance let’s you shape the sound however you want.

Great piece! Bright but not screeching. Full of life and expression. Very unique sound. Can make a dark sounding horn come alive. Very nice!
Wonderful mouthpiece! It delivers throughout the range and has become my mainstay. Warm with a lovely sound at the bottom of the horn. A plus for intonation, especially in the palm keys! I was amazed the first time I put it on the horn, and I still am delighted.
Been playing the GS Reso 5 J.A. special since two years now. With Vandoren 4 blue box on a Couesnon Monopole Conservatoire Ténor. Love it so much. No issue to impose myself if needed despite small tip. Warm and dark sound is what you get. Easy to play too.
Recently broke the tip (it slipped from my hand) but was able to repare it with automotive body filler.
Would love to test the 7* FG facing to see although not big fan of big tip openings.
I just love this mouthpiece. I purchased the 7. Plays in tune. Just an all around joy to play. First time I played it, a Hank Mobley tune just popped out of my horn. Thank you Mr. Curry, I’m excited to try your other mouthpieces.
Just got the Reso and what a great MP. Big warm dark sound and blows so easy. So much fun to play on my "71 MK VI.
Got this and the Super Sonic and love them both. Will let the Grandson give them a try. Think he'll be amazed.
