Here is a GORGEOUS example of a Selmer Mark VI alto in all original condition. The original pads are still sealing, and you can play this horn on the factory setup still! It had a beautiful, medium bright tone that is rich, and the intonation is excellent. It feels basically new under the fingers - dry and snappy and mechanically tight. It may have had like 1-2 small dings removed from the back of the bow, and that's it for past repairs or damage. There are no dents or dings, no neck damage past or present, nothing resoldered etc. Super clean and original. There's a little speckling in the lacquer, just from time. This is a one-owner horn and you'll be its second owner to take care of it for its next 50 years or however long you want to own it. A nice thing about a beautiful, original lacquer Selmer like this, is that it holds its value so nicely that you can own and enjoy it and sell it without even losing much or any money down the road. Hard to say that about any other saxophone you might buy. This has the original Selmer case and mouthpiece included as well. The later serial VI altos represent the best value among Selmers in my opinion, because they just play GREAT, they tune the best of any of the VI's and they are built excellently and are just a joy to play - but they're like half the price of the early serial VI altos. I would buy one of these over a Yamaha or heavily-marketed new Taiwanese horn any day.
