The SML tenors have a cult following because they combine a French, Selmer-like tone with a dark, powerful element taken from vintage Conn saxophones. (SML was started by former Selmer employees who wanted to make a modern saxophone i.e. a Conn). The best of the bunch (according to most players - I also love the early SMLs) are the Rev D and Gold Medal models, as they have a bunch of handy design improvements that I won't get into here, but that you can easily look up.
This particular example is both almost new looking, and also has already had an expensive complete overhaul done on it by Lee Kramka at Saxworx in SFO. Lee does excellent work and is the go-to guy in the Bay Area. The horn comes in a ProTec contoured XL case which is the best case for an SML like this (known for its large bell). You'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer SML. The only thing weird about it is that it never got the SML bell stamp, for some odd reason
We'll post a video of it asap, but the tone is dark, powerful, medium spread, with a lyrical French core. Basically a Selmer-Conn hybrid as it was designed to be. And the keywork is quite comfortable, though not that similar to a modern saxophone. Takes a week or two to adjust and then you just pick it up and play!
