The Selmer Mark VI sopranos from the 70’s are some of the best values in a professional soprano. Kenny G plays one like this, as do innumerable other commercial soprano players. It has ‘that sound’ - the brassy, projecting, focused, oboe-like tone that you hear on recordings constantly and pervasively. And the 70’s VI sopranos have the best intonation of any of the Mark VI sopranos, so they tend to be the best buys for players, despite also being the least expensive (because less rare) compared to the earlier serial VI sopranos. This one is original lacquer, old (maybe original) pads. It is in very good condition with minimal past damage. There’s some stand wear inside the bell, and some mottling in the lacquer just from touching the case fabric over the decades. The old case is about ready to be replaced, so if you want to get this with a BAM signature or something we can discuss adding that on. This is a solid value on a pro Selmer soprano that should be tons of fun to play for decades more to come. Only one available!
