It is hard to say how many low A Mark VI saxophones Selmer actually made. There is a longstanding rumor that the number was only 200. I see a few come up for sale each year, so I suspect the number to be more like 1000, but who knows? There were three Conn-O-Saxes for sale at the same time on eBay at one point in 2010, and hardly anything is as rare as one of those.

In any case, this horn is in extremely clean condition with only a bit of lacquer wear on the octave key/low A key and on the thumb hook. The back of the body tube is beautiful. Pearls are all sharp. It has all original pads as well. The serial number is 134xxx and it has a medium bright tone with a singing quality to it. It plays great on the original pads and needs nothing. The tone is lyrical, medium bright, and the bell key tone is great as well.

Ever want to go back in time and play a new Mark VI? Here's your chance. It even comes with the original Selmer case with a larger area for the longer bell. The original neck is also perfect and has no damage or lacquer wear. This is definitely a horn I will be keeping if it doesn't sell.
