This is a beautiful Selmer Mark VI alto that is almost a 5-digit serial and saves you some money versus buying a 5-digit for the same sort of sound as a 90k alto. It is focused, powerful, and tenor-like, with a medium dark tone that brightens up when pushed. It is American engraved and assembled and has beautiful original honey gold lacquer intact. Original neck is in great shape, as is the original case. There are no dents or dings. Pads are mostly original from the factory as well, so plan on a repad soon, but it’s in superb condition. I love the tone of this era of VI alto, and it’s a great deal if you want the darker, more complex 5-digit VI vibe without paying a ton for it.
