We have two of these Ishimori Wood Stone New Vintage Altos in stock in the rare silver plated finish, both new old stock, and also two lacquered ones listed here.
This is the highly sought-after Ishimori Wood Stone 'New Vintage' alto saxophone available. The model is WSA-S with high F#. This one comes in the rare silver plated finish that has sat untouched for a decade or so in the case. We have two silver ones, numbers 541 and 550. The photos below are 541, and here's a link to photos of 550.
The New Vintage alto is an effortless player. Hard to emphasize how effortless. Completely effortless low register, low Bb pops out like any other note. Altissimo is easy. Tuning is great. The tone is sort of Selmer-ish but punchier like a King Super 20. Easy to play delicately and softly with plenty of saturation and projection. Action under the fingers is fast and snappy. Great for jazz, concert, ballads-- really anything. I'm impressed! The silver plays maybe a shade brighter than the lacquered one. Here's our first demo video:
