I think these older Yanagisawa hard rubber mouthpieces are just great for beginner and intermediate players who want a mouthpiece that just works and gets out of the way. Yanagisawa pieces like this are medium between bright and dark and play effortlessly and with good intonation. If you have a Yanagisawa tenor and you want a small tip mouthpiece to use to get playing, this is the one for you. It's the only 3 tip that I have seen.
