The YTS-23 is pretty much the best student tenor ever made. I find time and again that players who stuck with saxophone started on these rather than on cheaper models made by other brands. The ones that were made in Japan like this one are the best. This one also has all new pads just replaced, so it’s comparable to a new YTS-26 in playing condition, though it’s really a bit better built and more durable than the 26. Should be a great deal for someone. I don’t make really any money selling used student Yamahas, if you do the math on the cost to replace the pads (at least $600-800 depending on the horn). But it’s a good deal for you! Pair with a GS Reso or Slant for an instant great tenor tone that won’t hold you back as you improve.
