Rascher (probably the most famous classical saxophone teacher of the 20th century) was a passionate promoter of the idea that sax players should play a very old style mouthpiece to get a classical tone and tune best on a classical alto. He played Buescher saxophones, and I suppose there was a particular iteration of the Buescher original factory mouthpiece that he preferred above the others, along with a particular facing. I have seen a few of these 'Sigurd Rascher' branded mouthpieces over the years, and they all appear to be high quality hard rubber copies of a particular vintage Buescher mouthpiece. So if you want to get the bona-fide Sigurd Rascher classical alto sax experience, get a Buescher True Tone or New Aristocrat alto (ideally around 265-267k serial) and pair it with this mouthpiece and a very hard reed, and you can do your thing.
