The Selmer Super Action 80 Series II alto saxophone is the quintessential classical saxophone from Selmer. If you get this for university or private lesson study of classical saxophone repertoire, you won't go far astray of what your teacher expects no matter where you go to school. The Series II tone is that elusive sound that classical alto players are chasing, and that is hard to describe, but you know it when you hear it. These horns like a small chamber (Selmer or Vandoren) mouthpiece for classical sax playing, and they sound great on them. I have always had trouble getting the same amazing intonation with a larger chamber mouthpiece - if that's what you play, you may have problems because you will have to push all the way in.
This particular Series II was one owner and very lightly played. It still looks and even smells nearly new, and the original case is also still in excellent condition. You will save thousands versus buying a new Selmer, and this really gets the job done excellently well!
