This is a beautiful Selmer Mark VI tenor from 1956 that has a big, resonant, medium dark tone and a low miles overhaul. It's ready to go and will only need regular checkup type maintenance over the long term. The 60k tenors have a powerful, focused darkness to the tone that can sound really projecting. This one sounds like mainstream jazz with a GS Slant or similar large chamber mouthpiece, but it can also really cut through with a higher baffle piece and it doesn't thin out. There are minimal past repairs - nothing that I can see. Just a new coat of lacquer at some point, and not even much buffing. It feels like a new horn under the fingers. This should be a great investment for someone who wants a serious saxophone with a great tone and wants to get it for less than a typical 1956 because of the new coat of paint it got probably back in the 1960's by the look of it.
