This is a beautiful, original lacquer Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone from 1958. It is ready for its next life, and it is time for a full overhaul on it. The pads are probably 40-60 years old and need to be replaced. The only past repairs are a few small dings that will get removed pre-sale and that won't leave much of a trace at all. No resolders, no neck damage, bell flare is nice as well. The neck has the matching serial number to the body tube. I love the 75k VI altos. They play warm, focused, complex and with a lot of power. This will make a wonderful all-purpose alto for anyone, and it will play jazz beautifully, or you can play concert or classical repertoire (if your teacher isn't too snooty) with a Selmer mouthpiece that will make it tune optimally (Soloist, S80, LT, or Concept all work great). It's amazing that you can get a VI alto in original condition with basically no past damage, almost all its original lacquer intact, and even the original case for this kind of price.
