This is a gorgeous, original silver plated Selmer Balanced Action from the rare wartime period during the occupation of France by Germany, when Selmer only made a few hundred saxophones a year. With a gentle hand polish, this alto will go back to looking nearly new. The pads are older, so it's priced low to let you get it polished and overhauled, and still have a gorgeous SBA for less than a new pro Yamaha. That's kind of amazing and hard to beat. The tone on these is balanced, warm, rich, and lyrical. Think Paul Desmond, or you can also get a beautiful classical alto tone on one or push it with a Meyer for a brighter lead alto sound.
