Martin Handcraft Alto 69xxx

This is a Martin Handcraft alto in original silver plate. The serial # is 69xxx, which is 1926. This horn plays with a big, warm, spread tone that stays nice and fat throughout the range of the instrument. I took this horn in on trade, as a favor, and I am selling it as-is now for a low price. It was recently repadded, but the pad work feels very squishy, and some pads have very deep seats, so I would not call this a high-quality repad by any means. Still, the horn plays as is, and the cosmetic condition is impeccable with no past repairs, no dents, no dings, and minimal wear to the silver plate. The gold wash in the bell is particularly dark and nice as well. The original, matching neck is in good shape with no past or current damage. This horn is built like a tank and should serve you well as a fun vintage alto. It ships in a boxy, protective modern case with a soft interior.
