If you're thinking about getting into saxophone playing, and you want to get a great horn for a low price and then give it a new life with an overhaul, this would be a great candidate. It's a later serial but still high quality King Super 20 alto made in Eastlake OH during the era when we still routinely made top-quality physical products in the USA. It has had some bumps and bruises along the way. The lacquer is redone, and I see a removed bow dent, a small one taken out of the neck, and a resoldered C keyguard. Also a plugged hole in the neck where someone put a microphone pickup back when electrifying saxophone was a big deal (It is becoming so again right now!) This is all either fixed or fixable, and with a little TLC, this will be an amazingly good alto. Pair it with a Meyer for a classic lead alto sound. I saw a bumper sticker today with a dog on it that said 'Who rescued who?" I can imagine that your adopting this sax might turn out to be a similar scenario.
