The Buescher 400 Top Hat and Cane alto has to be one of the most beautiful American saxophones ever made. This is one of the cleanest, most perfect examples of one with original lacquer that I have seen. It was made in 1951 but it still looks nearly new. I love the raised logo and the silver tone ring under the bell flare. The engraving is also the nicest that Buescher ever did standard on one of its saxophones. The original snap and spuds are obviously intact, as are the norton springs. Neck looks great. There are no dents or dings. A little lacquer loss by the neck cork is about the only flaw on the entire thing to take it out of the mint category and put it in excellent to near mint.
If you are going to own only one, vintage Buescher alto, this is the one to get. I love the vintage original trapezoidal case as well. Someone should copy that design today. Only one available, and it's priced super low, to sell quickly!
