Do you want the ultimate vintage curved soprano saxophone? This is basically it. Among curved sopranos Buescher is the best, and among those the rule is get high F and the later the serial number the better. This one checks all those boxes, AND it already has a full overhaul just completed and plays its best right out of the case. And it's silver plated. The only past damage is a bow dent where someone removed the 'fin' to get the bow back looking perfect, and there's a resoldered post on the back of the bow from that as well, I suspect. The neck is undamaged, and the rest of the horn is super clean. The overhaul was done really well. These are not that easy to overhaul, and this one feels great under the fingers. No snaps and spuds, which means you can just use regular pads and the pads go into the pad cups easily and seal best on the tone holes as well.
The main reason to get a Buescher like this is the TONE. It has the most pleasant, round, warm, vocal soprano tone that you could ask for. Many modern sopranos tend towards the oboe tonally. Vintage American sopranos sound more like a tenor saxophone than like an oboe - full, round, and warm, and the Buescher late True Tones like this tend to be the most prized of all of those. If you want a great vintage curved soprano, you could search for many years and not find one better than this.
