The following chart shows how rare each Selmer saxophone is. This is brand new information that has never been available before. It is thanks to friend of GetASax, Douglas Pipher’s painstaking work digitizing the handwritten Selmer archives that have not been widely accessible before now. So if you want to know exactly how many Selmer Radio Improved baritone saxophones were made (really not many), or how many Selmer Super Balanced Action Tenor saxophones were made (surprisingly few), this is the place to find out! How many Selmer Mark VI tenors were made? 83,530! Quite a few. Too bad they can’t all be 5-digit serial numbers, haha.

I have a Selmer Paris Mark VI, Serial # M16900. Purchased around 1970, and played in high school concert band for two “seasons”, and not since.
Original lacquer, original pads. The pads felt soft to the touch. Its been stored in its (Bundy) case in a closet.
I’m interested in knowing what its worth, but also whether the prices look to be increasing or stable.

You can’t find the serial # of an AS500 (or 400 or 600) because they’re made by Conn-Selmer, recent or current production and made in Vietnam, Philippines or some other Asian country.
