This is an excellent example of one of my favorite modern tenors. It’s a Yanagisawa T-880, which has ribbed construction and double bell key arms for extra stability. It took me 2 years to find one in this kind of condition. Most of them that you find have been around the block a couple of times.
The 880 has a warmer, more complex tone than some of the later Yanagisawas, but the later ones are good as well. I like the extra warmth, so when you combine that with the excellent ergonomics, build quality, and intonation, this is a hard horn to beat. This one is in near mint condition with only a few light scratches above the serial number. The horn plays well and the pads are in good shape. If you’re looking for a totally top-quality modern tenor with a great tone (Yanagisawa in the 80’s is Mark VI inspired, but with its own vibe added into the mix) that does it all, this could be a very good choice.
