Yanagisawa S-6/S800 soprano in very condition. The lacquer is original and in good shape, and it has a recent full repad! These are copies of a Mark VI soprano, and they actually play better than the original in many cases! The intonation is better, and the keywork is built just as well. Tyler on his Riffault soprano piece, sounds almost like if Paul Desmond played soprano (to my ear) in the recording below. But it’s a versatile instrument and is basically identical to the VI soprano Kenny G plays. If you want that brassy, projecting soprano tone like Kenny G gets (with a Dukoff), or the thin, oboe-like tone that John Coltrane gets (maybe a Selmer Soloist?), those are both tonal directions these horns can easily go. (You’d need the right mouthpiece and a lot of practice to actually sound like those players stylistically, but the tone goes in that direction naturally.)
For a professional Yanagisawa soprano with good pads, this is priced to sell!
