Description

Holy Lacquered Brass, Batman! This is the nicest The Martin Baritone that I have ever seen! No past repairs, no dents or dings, it came to me with original pads, and I got it freshly overhauled. It is hard to overemphasize how rarely you see any vintage baritone in this kind of shape, let alone one of the best sounding ones ever.

This horn includes the beautiful original case, original neck with matching serial number 187812 from 1955, and even the original Martin baritone mouthpiece, which I had not seen before.

Martins are so well-made, that they came with 50 year warranties! This horn looks like it has been played or maybe a year or two, and it is mechanically tight and feels just great.

This horn is super fun to play, with a depth of sound that just keeps giving you more. The tone is medium between bright and dark; remarkably even across all registers; palm keys remain fat-sounding, low notes are lush and resonant. I should mention, there is no chromatic Alt F# on this model! Why not? I have no idea.

Whether you are primarily a player or a collector, or a little of both, if you have ever wanted a The Martin Baritone, this is the one to have for sure.

We pay the best prices for great saxophones.
