This is a beautiful rolled tone holes Gold Medal tenor that has fancy deluxe engraving including inside the bell. The original lacquer on the horn body is a beautiful rose gold color, and the neck either aged differently (you see this on Buffet’s sometimes) or was relacquered at some point to a honey gold color (though the neck is slightly darker, not lighter, than the horn, so go figure.). As for the rest of the horn, there are some small dents in the back of the bow that are getting removed, the bell flare has a crease that was removed, and the low Eb key cage leg was resoldered. This horn has not been played much, and it shows minimal play wear. It was a one-owner saxophone and sat in the closet for most of its life. It comes in a nice, new Protec XL tenor case, which costs around $175. The pads are older, so plan on a repad or at least replacing several pads. If I have time, I’ll get this done myself and sell this baby with a fresh overhaul. These horns have the biggest, darkest tone and really play great.
