Here is a unique horn that we got in on trade. It is an early Selmer Mark VII that the owner was using for serious classical playing. He had the alt F# key taken off (you could open it up and put a new one on there for around $100 if you wanted to.) and the same deal on high F#. Besides that, he also had the original lacquer stripped “for resonance” (some people swear by this). The horn is in good playing condition on medium-old pads and does play very well, with a powerful, dark tone. It is heavily discounted because of the mods, but if that’s your thing, you can get an “original” lacquer Selmer Paris alto for under $2k, which you do not often see happen. This should make a good alto for either classical or more commercial settings. It has a big voice and can definitely sing when you need it to.
