Description
This saxophone is sold! But click here to see our current selection of tenor saxophones.
It is highly uncommon that a Mark VI tenor this nice comes up for sale. Maybe we’ve been paying too much to snag them, but here is another one. It is in near mint condition with only a tiny amount of lacquer wear and no past repairs. This horn has it all: American engraving, no resolders, virtually all of the lacquer intact, original case, the works. Check out the pictures for the specifics of how nice it is. This horn has a big, dark, powerful tone. The 9x,xxx tenors are highly coveted for their uniquely powerful, focused, dark Selmer core. It’s the kind of horn that makes a career or that enables you to be a better player, both by removing obstacles that were there before for you, and by opening up new possibilities that would not have emerged otherwise.
The current pads are good, but not very new. It is sold as-is on the older pads for now, so plan on getting it overhauled by your favorite tech. Or if this suddenly disappears from the site, you will know that I decided to keep it! It comes in a near mint original red leather Chesterfield case with a good, working zipper intact. Whoever gets this horn is going to be a lucky owner of a superb and highly collectible tenor that is one of the better tenor saxophones ever made.
