I have owned the same Mark VI 80k tenor for the last 6 years, and it helps me to resist the tendency to see every horn that comes in as a potential keeper. But every now and then, a horn comes along that makes me want to keep it anyway, and this is one of those. It is an extremely clean 86k tenor with Matt Stohrer’s overhaul just done. If you are a Selmer guy, this is a horn you keep for life and finish your endless quest for the perfect horn.

The horn had only a small dent on the back of the bow that was removed very well, and no other damage or past repairs at all. It was a one owner horn and came with original pads. It now has TenorMadness domed brass resonators that are $100 a set and re-usable and are my favorite pairing for a VI. The pad work feels incredibly smooth, even, and snappy, and the horn responds very quickly – almost as soon as you think of making a sound. It’s a really nice horn. It comes with your choice of an original Chesterfield case or a new BAM Trekking or Hiscox case. If you are a Selmer guy, this is a horn you keep for life and finish your endless quest for the perfect horn.
