This Mark VI was selected by Zoot Sims for his best friend when they were tenor players together in NYC in the 50s. His friend’s widow sold it to a friend of mine. It was overhauled by Matt Stohrer about 8 years ago and just got a fresh COA by Matt Stohrer. It is in the top 3 VI tenors I’ve played (currently sitting at #2), which is saying a lot. This is legitimately a fantastic VI tenor that is dark, powerful, focused, and extremely responsive. The original neck is perfect. It has honest wear in the lacquer but has been very well cared-for its entire life. If you want a VI that is top top shelf, this is for you. I’m going to miss this one. If it suddenly disappears from the site, that’s because I decided I had to keep it.
