Here’s a nearly pristine 5-Digit serial Selmer Mark VI tenor. It has only the tiniest amout of lacquer wear on the touch points. Structurally it is perfect with no dents, no dings, no past repairs of any kind. The neck, bow, bell flare etc are all perfect. It has original pads and original resonators intact. Original case is in excellent condition too.
As you would expect, a super nice VI tenor like this also plays very well on its original factory setup. The tone is dark, focused, complex, and punchy, but a little louder than my 81xxx and a little bigger and wider. The 90k serials are coveted for their power and projecting ability, and this horn will not disappoint. It still plays pretty well on its original pads, and I’d be happy to discuss repad options as well, if you’re interested. But it’s only original once, so for now it’s staying that way. I’ve been especially trying to buy up a few super-clean VI’s, but they are hard to find in truly clean condition. This beautiful horn is also great investment, so if you have the cash, and you love saxophones, it’s a very good purchase. Get it while you can!
