This is a gorgeous, American-assembled, original lacquer Mark VI alto saxophone. It has one keycage leg resoldered (with minimal lacquer loss) and one small dent removed from the back of the bow. Other than that, it looks like a brand new horn, with super clean honey gold lacquer and American engraving. It comes with the black treypak case in great shape as well. These later VI altos are super players, and have the best intonation of the bunch. They are medium bright, rich, powerful, and responsive. The later VI’s in general are just different in various ways from the earlier ones, despite what you will read online from people who have not seen scores of them. If you’re looking for a do-it-all alto that is better made and sounds better than a modern Selmer, is more collectible, a better investment, and is all-around cooler, and you are spending the same money, then by all means, get this instead. Photos coming soon, but take my word for it. This is a really nice looking alto.
