Description
This is a Dukoff Supersonic/ Zimberoff House of Note mouthpiece blank that Bobby Dukoff made for Selmer. That is why it is stamped Selmer Elkhart NY. You see this same blank with several other names stamped on it as well. The Dukoff/Zimberoff version has more hand finishing in the baffle than the Selme Elkhart version, so I sent this to Brian Powell to have that work done, and to be opened up to a .110 or 8 tip. It now plays great, with a fairly open, dark, complex tone that is on the punchier side (for a vintage hard rubber piece) and has a nice buzz to it. These are among my favorite vintage mouthpieces. Here’s a chance to get one that plays its best at a price that competes with current production mouthpieces, than-which it is far superior in materials, tone, and finish work. This piece has a rollover baffle, curved side walls, and a large round chamber.
