Here’s one of those horns that you hardly ever find for sale. This was Andy Farber’s tenor for about 20 years> Andy is among the most prominent New York sax players around. He loves vintage saxophones and owns only the best stuff. He traded me this to switch to a King with sterling bell and pearls. This horn is so nice to play, with a combination of that big, warm Balanced action tone, with a surprising amount of focus and projection. It’s super-versatile, and can play any style while sounding good. The intonation is great, ergonomics are easy, with a bit of help from the added Mark VI metal thumb hook. This horn was silver plated and re-engraved at Andy’s request, and it just looks fantastic. I had a freshly overhauled with $100 TenorMadness domed brass resonators, and it just plays great.
Andy sent me a photo of this horn receiving its presidential inspection from Bill Clinton. I included that at the end of the listing.
If you’re looking for a really great vintage Selmer, it would be hard to do better than this for beauty, playing condition, and provenance. It should make someone really happy! Only one available. Get it now!
