This is a beautiful Selmer Balanced Action tenor saxophone that was relacquered by Selmer in the 1950’s. It had Selmer pads and a few remaining Tone-x resonators on it when I got it (which means definitely factory relac), as well as the dark nitrocellulose lacquer that Selmer used on the later SBA tenors. Plus, the engraving is totally sharp and the whole thing is beautiful. Aaron Barnard just overhauled this horn with TenorMadness domed brass resos and Pisoni pads, and it is now ready to go and is a VERY good playing BA tenor. It has that big, lush, somewhat more spread tone that people want in a BA, while remaining basically a vintage Selmer core. The neck on this horn was mismatched when I got it, but a friend sold me a neck that came from a BA tenor of the same serial range (within 1k serial numbers), and which plays just right on the horn.
