Description
This is a project Conn 10M tenor needing a mechanical restoration, but it is super cheap to give someone a deal. It looks to me like it is/was original finish, but it was probably originally silver plate and the silver is stripped. Engraving looks good anyway, and the horn does not look like it has been buffed.
The main issues are that the keys need to be ‘swedged’ to compensate for mechanical play, and the horn needs new rollers and key pearls. See the many photos for details of condition, or show them to your repairman. I would guess most saxophone repairpeople would charge $900-1500 for this kind of job. Maybe your guy is a lot cheaper than that.
Conn 10M’s have been very hot recently, because they have that incomparable Conn tone and comfortable keywork, and good intonation. Get this one cheap now and get it fixed up. Only one available. No offers or haggling please. This is the price.
