Description
This is a used P Mauriat 67R unlacquered alto with Selmer style engraving and a vintified bare brass finish. This model, which you can read about lots of places online, is a popular professional offering from P Mauriat, which is made in Taiwan. The case looks like it was made by Pro-Tec, and has lots of storage and is nice and protective. The horn feels pretty good under the fingers – a little more squishy than I would like, but hey, I’m picky. Pads are sealing well, and this alto plays quite easily with a medium bright tone that is pleasant and mouthpiece-friendly. This also comes with the P Mauriat Selmer S80 C* copy, with ligature, cap, a strap for the case and the cleaning cloth. This horn has not been played much since it was new, and represents a good value at several hundred dollars less than buying a new one which would be virtually identical to this. I have heard that these are some of the more dependable Taiwanese saxophones over time also.
So if you’re looking for a modern pro Taiwanese alto for a great price, well, look no further. This is it! Over $1300 less than the lowest online price I could find! Looks cool too.
