This is a nice original lacquer The Martin Tenor SN# 180xxx. It has older pads. These are probably the best horn for the money of any vintage saxophone. There are no past repairs, and the horn has no dents or dings. The original lacquer is a little speckly, but looks very good, and the neck is in great shape with no dents, no dings, repairs or pull down.
These horns are really fun to play with a big, powerful tone with warmth, and a signature “edge” if you push them. They work well for jazz, rock and R&B, depending on your choice of mouthpiece, and the horns are built like tanks so they will last forever and are really hard to dent or damage compared to other saxophones.
