Here is a beautiful bare brass The Martin Baritone with a fresh overhaul by Aaron Barnard, who is one of the best techs in the USA. This bari is a good choice for anyone who is looking for the best tone possible on bari and for a horn that is beautiful, totally tight and ready to go. Saxophone guru Steve Goodson calls ‘The Martin Baritone’ the best vintage bari, and for good reason. These horns have the biggest, fattest sound, and they can project very well too. The feel of the horn is very different from the much lighter Conn 12M. The Martin Baritone is very sturdy and feels like a tank. The sound projects out of it effortlessly, and it feels like you could just keep pushing it as loud as you want and it would never hold you back. This should be a great horn for all kinds of music, and it would cut well for funk or rock situations really well.

The overhaul was done by Aaron Barnard, who stripped the remaining (definitely) original lacquer so that the horn is now totally bare brass. It is really beautiful this way, and the horn will develop a nice matte patina over time, while the engraving fills in darker. The pads are pisoni premiums and they have a nice medium-firm pop. The resos are TenorMadness domed metal screw-in brass resos. In other words, this was a $1000 overhaul that you are getting with this horn. You won’t find a better set-up Martin baritone than this, and this horn should be good to go for many many years in this condition. It ships in a nice ProTec bari case that protects the horn well.
