This is an unusual vintage piece from Lelandais (a French mouthpiece manufacturer) stamped “Super Jazz.” It has a “IV” by the table, and it measures .065, which is about a Meyer 4 as well. The chamber is HUGE, like an early Otto Link (pre-Tone Master), so this piece plays with a big, dark sound, despite the fact that it is metal. (The geometry of the piece determines its acoustics more than the material.)
This piece is much smaller than a typical alto mouthpiece – at least 1.5cm shorter than a Selmer Soloist, for instance. This makes me wonder whether it might not be a good fit for a Conn F Mezzo (which sounds 1/2 step higher than alto. It was not designed as such, but the F Mezzo owners of the world don’t have a lot of options, so this could be cool to try.
