Keilwerth ToneKing Special Tenor Saxophone Original Silver Plate Rare Early Serial 42198

Just overhauled. Looks nearly new. This thing plays beautifully with more of a Selmer-like tone than later Keilwerths. Sort of half Keilwerth/Conn dark and rich, half Selmer SBA smoky and centered.  Incredible. Earliest serial I’ve seen also! If you love Keilwerths, let me know if you’ve seen a ToneKing Special (Keilwerth’s first real top level horn) earlier than 42198. I haven’t. It’s the beginning of Keilwerth as a Big 4 saxophone maker! This just got a complete overhaul including new stainless steel springs to match the silver. It feels great – nice and snappy and dry under the fingers. Low register response is effortless. Everything is good as new.
