This alto is Conn’s top-top of the line, spare-no-expense model with quadruple gold plate, extensive engraving, and pearls on every key. These horns were special orders, and they are very very rare. The virtuoso finish Conns are ONLY the ones with the pearl inlay on every key and with engraving all the way up the body tube. True Virtuoso finish Conns are very rare, and this horn is very desirable for that reason. It is also in excellent physical condition, as you can see from the photos. There’s a little bit of wear on the touch points just from being played. This horn is my favorite kind to buy – beautiful, clean, undamaged, but obviously played and loved. Usually horns like this that were lovingly cared for and played are extremely good players. This one fits the bill. It has just been tuned up, and it plays great with a big, warm voice.
