Description
Mint condition, original gold plate Conn soprano from the best serial range. Full overhaul by Matt Stohrer, who does exceptionally good work on vintage Conns. This horn has such a wide, warm, room-filling tone, that it is a complete joy to play. You will sound 1000% better than a Mark VI soprano on this horn. The tone is light years ahead – round, warm, complex, and pleasant to listen to. Not nasal, not pinched or oboe-like. These like large chamber mouthpieces. You can bend notes all over the place if you want also and get a surprisingly easy glissando (for a saxophone).
You could look around for many years and not find a better soprano than this. Matt’s overhaul is over $1500 of added value. He spends a full day just meticulously polishing every little nook and cranny. It’s as close to going back in time and buying a brand new Chu Berry soprano as you could find. The thick, satin gold plate is even more beautiful in person, and is quite resistant to tarnish or wear.
