This is an unlacquered Conn NWII soprano that has a good overhaul done a few years ago and that plays well. This is a nice clean soprano that has a big, warm tone that you can’t get on any modern soprano. The keywork is vintage, of course, but not bad. The intonation is flexible, which means that if you have a decent ear, you can play this horn in tune with no problem. The main reason to get one of these is for the big, medium dark, resonant, rich Conn tone. By comparison, every modern soprano is brighter, more focused, and less resonant. There are advantages in modern sopranos, but for many players, those are outweighed by the tone that you can get on a vintage pro soprano like this. It is priced super-low for a quick sale, and should be a great deal for someone who wants a genuinely nice soprano for not much money, in good playing condition.
This ships in the original case in good condition.
