WOW! Finally a great ligature that works wonders with my Guardala MBII…When my custom welded optimum went bad (15 years later) I went on the biggest ligature hunt and literally tried everything only to be disappointed every time. I tried everything from A-Z. We even tried recreating a new welded optimum, however we just couldn’t recreate the same magic from the 1st one. Everything else was way too dark, choked the reed (even when barely tightened), compressed the sound making it tighter or more directional vs. open, fat, rippy, punchy, easy to subtone while keeping a fat sound and not losing definition or clarity. When I saw the concept of the Echo Master it immediately caught my attention. I ordered it and immediately noticed it had the special “THING” I was looking for. It’s by far the best ligature for a guardala IMHO. It fits, looks nice, well made, it lets the mouthpiece be what is supposed to be…a fat, open, peel the paint off the wall guardala while maintaining the lush subtones… After figuring out the proper screw tension, ligature placement on mp(very important) it rocks! I know ligature choice opinions are subjective however I can attest that this lig helped me feel at peace and gave me the confidence to continue to pursue my goals as a aspiring musician. I am usually not a gear guy – but Brian sold me a fantastic mouthpiece a few months back and I’ve been wanting to try this ligature on it. The fit is perfect (I’m playing a Transitional Dukoff) and the plate holds the reed very securely. It looks and feels great while staying functional as well. I would recommend this ligature to any of my friends or colleagues! 10/10
