Selmer Mark VI Baritone 154k Original Lacquer Excellent Condition No Neck

This is the nicest condition low Bb Selmer Mark VI baritone I have EVER seen. It’s shockingly clean, and even nicer in person than in the photos. Sadly, the neck was lost by the original owner. No luck looking for it, and we looked high and low. For future reference, if you’re going to store a horn untouched for decades, be sure to put the original neck with the horn. Oh well. On the Mark VI baritone, the neck is absurdly simple, with no octave key, and barely any taper. It’s just a bent tube. It’s the easiest Selmer neck to replace with a better one, by far. I have an original Mark VI 81xxx baritone neck here in my necks drawer that we could discuss pairing with this horn. Or you could just get a new Series III baritone neck, which is the same as a VI neck and pops right on there. Or get Gloger to make you a custom one. His custom 12M Conn necks play better than Conn’s necks. Ok that’s a lot of discussion of the neck.

This horn is just a gorgeous player. It still has the original factory pads, and they have barely been used, so it actually still plays well on the original factory setup. The keys feel nice and snappy and everything is mechanically clean and tight like it should be. It’s warm and lush sounding, almost like a tenor, and it also feels like a tenor on your neck, compared to the much heavier low A version.  If you want a time capsule Selmer Mark VI baritone saxophone, which is something you almost NEVER see, well, you should grab this one for sure. There’s only one available to one lucky owner.
