This is a great Otto Link Super Tone Master Tenor saxophone mouthpiece. This is the Florida USA, which is kind of the perfect tenor piece in some ways. It has a nice ‘roll over’ baffle that gives it plenty of punch, and you get plenty of body and depth from the large chamber and nicely curved side walls. This is the classic jazz and commercial mouthpiece for the serious tenor player. This Florida Link just came back from Erik Greiffenhagen, who is one of the best mouthpiece makers and refacers around today. He works for Morgan and is working to bring back MC Gregory mouthpieces for Morgan. Erik uses the best authentic vintage Otto Link curves for his facings, so this piece, which was originally a 6, is now just like it would have been if Otto Link had continued opening it to a 7*, because it has a vintage link curve, and all you do to open a piece more is continue opening the blank from its original 0.00 tip opening. This facing makes response effortless, across all registers. This is truly ‘one of the good ones’ and it’s priced very reasonably for all that. There’s some kind of reference number engraved on the side from the original owner.
