Here is a beautiful, original lacquer Buescher Aristocrat Big B tenor with small bell. It has a fresh top-quality full overhaul/restoration, and retains its original snap in pads and gold Norton springs! The lacquer is a beautiful golden honey color, and this is some of the best looking engraving of any vintage saxophone in my opinion. This horn sports the desirable smaller bell that only a subset of Big B tenors have. These horns are among the best American tenors ever made and were billed as a jazzier alternative to the 400 “Top Hat and Cane” line. These are excellent, professional tenors that are highly prized for their big complex tone, good build quality, excellent intonation, and all around satisfying playing experience.

There are currently no dents, but some dents have been removed from the back of the bow, near Eb key guard. The bell flare has had a little bend removed, and you can still barely tell if you look edge on. The neck was also slightly pulled down – about a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 – and it is now just the right angle and looks great. None of these repairs is anything serious – just run of the mill for a vintage saxophone, and everything is now as it should be.
This horn comes with its nice original case, and I would also recommend getting a more protective modern case for safe shipping and easier transport. I have a ProTec XL tenor case that I can include with the horn for $125.

This is a great American saxophone – every time I have had someone come in to play horns, the person is always blown away by the quality of the pro level Bueschers. They are BIG players, and they have great intonation. They are underpriced right now, and they are absolutely great horns. So if you are looking for a truly professional quality, American-made tenor for a good price, it would be hard to beat this horn.
