SML King Marigaux Gold Medal Alto Saxophone 20xxx

Description

This is a pristine, collector-grade SML King Marigaux alto, virtually like new in the original case. This horn is gorgeous with no past repairs. It has all original pads, and it still plays well with a big, warm, projecting tone. The tone on this horn is dark, complex, lyrical and French, but with a strong 30’s Conn influence mixed in. Intonation is good, ergonomics are good.

With only a very small number of SML saxophones produced, there are very few that are still in pristine condition like this. The only feature distinguishing King Marigaux SML’s from the regular SML horns is the absence of rolled tone holes. The only difference this makes is that the tone hole has a flat edge, like a Selmer, instead of a rounded one like a vintage Conn. Great horn!
