Description
This is the kind of horn that shows you what GetASax is all about. It is a beautiful original lacquer, American-assembled and engraved Selmer Mark VI tenor from 1967, which is a great year. This horn is one-owner and has been well-cared for for its entire lifetime. I got it with old pads and got it very carefully restored. Now it just sings – it’s so effortless to play a saturated low Bb at pianissimo – the pads thunk out their notes even without any air just by closing them. It’s a true restoration. The whole horn is clean with no damage and no past repairs. The original neck looks great also. Besides some lacquer wear from use, this horn is in as-new or better mechanical condition. Even the mighty Mark VI didn’t come with this level of overhaul. Resonators are domed metal, and the horn plays with a medium tone between bright and dark, and is a great all-purpose tenor. This horn will make someone really happy. Comes with the original gray zippered 60s case, and you can add a BAM for a discounted price if you talk to me. The price is great, and not negotiable. Just the overhaul is over $1000 in value, and not something you could easily get done yourself, as all the best techs have loooong wait lists.
