Description
Here is a rare opportunity to buy a beautiful, original lacquer Selmer Mark VI baritone with low A from one of the most desirable years of the Mark VI: 1967. This horn is in exceptional condition for any vintage saxophone approaching its 50th birthday, but especially for a vintage baritone. This horn has been lovingly pro-owned for many years, and has been well-cared-for. There is almost nothing to mention negative on condition: some light lacquer wear from use, maybe a tiny ding on the back of the bow that can be removed pre-sale. It’s unheard-of to see a VI bari in such amazing shape. There are literally no past repairs evident, no resolders, no evidence of dent work. This horn still has its original Selmer factory pads intact! It even still plays surprisingly well on them, though I would certainly say it’s time for a repad on this beauty. The sale also includes the original case, in good condition.
If you have been looking for a world-class low A baritone, and you want the best of the best, you can buy this for not much more than a new Yamaha 62 and get something much more special and unique that will also keep going up in value while you own it. That’s hard to beat.
