The Yamaha Custom EX is one of the most popular modern altos for serious saxophone players and students on the college level and beyond. The reason people love these horns so much is that they have incredible intonation and very comfortable ergonomics. They are dependable and well setup from the factory, and they are also very easy to maintain.
This particular horn came from a pro tenor player and teacher who bought this and never ended up playing it. It has been in the case since it was new, and has rarely been played, and is in nearly new condition. The silver plate upgrade costs +$300 on a new 875EX alto. It is gorgeous and also more durable than lacquer. The pads are in great condition and this horn is totally setup and ready to go as is. It plays wonderfully with a clear, round sound that is medium dark and flexible, depending on what mouthpiece you use. Works great for classical with a classical mouthpiece, and great for jazz with a vintage Meyer, or a Ted Klum Acoustimax etc.
Get it before it is gone! Because demand is high, these horns tend to sell quickly (and are also easy to re-sell down the road, should you ever want to.) They are $4400+ new in silver. Save some money on this one in near mint condition and play it for years to come!
